About Shichi-Go-San

What is Shichi-Go-San?

Traditionally, Shichi-Go-San is celebrated on November 15th by visiting a shrine and taking commemorative photos.

However, in recent years, many families opt to take photos in advance to avoid crowds.

Point!

Tips for a More Enjoyable Shichi-Go-San Experience

  • Booking a photoshoot between April and October allows for a relaxed shrine visit on the actual celebration day.
  • Combining shrine visits and photography on the same day can be tiring for children.
  • Taking photos in advance ensures bright smiles and a more enjoyable experience.

Who Can Participate?

While Shichi-Go-San is traditionally celebrated by 3-year-old and 7-year-old girls and 5-year-old boys, today it has become a popular experience for children of all genders and ages, including tourists. Our kimono options are available for children ages 2 to 9.

Ages 2–4

  • A shorter dressing time using a “hifu” vest ensures comfort and an adorable look.

Ages 4–6 (Boys)

  • Wear a full hakama set for a dignified and traditional style.

Ages 6–9 (Girls)

  • Wear a long-sleeved furisode kimono with elegant obi and accessories for a sophisticated look.

Our services are by reservation only.
